Poor Angus

Poor Angus is a uniquely exhilarating Celtic experience! Incorporating a vast array of Celtic heritage from stirring four-part a capella vocals inspired by classic artists such as the Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners, Ryan″s Fancy and Stan Rogers, to cracking instrumentals executed with precision and spirit featuring the bagpipes and fiddle in a style forged by bands such as Planxty , The Battlefield Band and the Tannahill Weavers, Poor Angus is sure to inspire or recharge a love for the genre.

Having played together for the last five years, and with two award-winning albums behind them, the band weaves an energetic show. From familiar to rare traditional gems, to original songs by lead singer and beloved folk veteran Scott Cameron Smith to exiting instrumentals written by the band″s fiddler Andrew Bryan and piper Ross Griffiths – all are arranged by the group with the aid of guitarist Brian LeBlanc and D. Jay Moons on the bass. Poor Angus is undeniable proof that strong, proud Canadian Celtic culture is alive and well on the shores of lake Ontario.
