Out of Vancouver, BC, The Breakmen are four multi-instrumentalists who share a passion in songwriting. With a fresh take on traditional sounds, this band has been winning over audiences across Canada and the American Northwest with contagious stage energy, original melodies, and innovative vocal harmonies.?With new and unique flavour, The Breakmen blend elements of bluegrass, folk, alt-traditional, and country blues into a sound that has proven to satisfy a variety of musical appetites.?Since the inception of the band in 2005, The Breakmen have well established themselves at the forefront of Western Canada's thriving roots music scene. In 2007/2008 The Breakmen toured extensively and played alongside some of Canada's finest roots musicians, leading critics to draw several comparisons to the Old Crow Medicine Show and The Band. The Breakmen's self-titled debut album has received national attention from CBC Radio 1 while CBC Radio 2 has twice recorded the band as part of the Canada Live series. The band has also seen success in private radio and earshot recognized campus stations as the album remained on the Canadian Roots Music Report Top 50 for over eight months.
